Editorial policy and standards.
Compensation does not move our rankings. This page documents how we keep editorial decisions and revenue decisions separate.
Track Retirement is a small independent publisher. Compensation does not move rankings, and no partner can buy ranking position. This page documents the policies that keep revenue decisions and editorial decisions separate.
Independence from advertisers
Track Retirement earns money when readers click through to one of our partners and request a call or a quote. We are transparent about this on our advertiser disclosure page.
We do not sell ranking position, we do not let a partner review or approve a guide before it publishes, and per-partner payout figures are not used as an input to any score or ranking. Because the same small team handles both partnerships and publishing, we manage that overlap by keeping the scoring rubric written down and published, so any reader can check a ranking against the stated criteria — see our methodology.
Editorial workflow
- Research. Every guide starts with a documented question we've heard from readers or that data shows people are searching for. We pull primary sources (regulatory, government, academic) before writing.
- Draft. Guides are drafted from a documented outline with the help of AI tools, including any worked examples and embedded data.
- Check. Every quoted statistic, regulatory citation, and worked-example figure is checked against its cited primary source.
- Sensitivity review. For YMYL topics — retirement income, annuity suitability — content is checked for accuracy and potential reader harm.
- Publish + monitor. Guides ship with a "last reviewed" date and are re-checked as rates and rules change.
Updates and freshness
We keep rate-sensitive content (MYGA rates, news) current; the "Reviewed" date you see on every guide is the date the content was last reviewed against current regulations and market conditions, not the date a typo was fixed.
Corrections policy
If you spot an error — math, regulatory rule, current rate, anything — please email support@trackretirement.com or use the contact form. We acknowledge and fix reported corrections promptly, and log every material correction on our corrections page with the date and what changed. Minor typos and copy edits aren't logged; substantive changes always are.
How we use AI
Our guides are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools and then checked against primary sources before publishing. We don't publish unchecked AI output, and we don't present AI — or anyone else — as having verified figures we haven't confirmed. Everything here is general information, not personalized financial advice; confirm current figures with the provider or a licensed professional.
Reader feedback
We read every email. Suggestions for new guides, gaps in coverage, or factual corrections all go to the same address. Significant gaps in coverage that we agree need filling are added to our editorial calendar — and we follow up when we ship the work.
